Our Story
We met in Maine...
After some banter back and forth online for over a year, while Sam was busy in medical school in Southern Maine and Shane was working at an architecture firm up in Bangor. In January of 2012 the stars aligned, and they found themselves living in the same area. Finally it was time for their first date! They laid eyes on each other at a restaurant halfway between where each was living. That restaurant was Buck Naked's BBQ...funny to think how far they have come since then, in their relationship, and choice in restaurants. After some initial sparks flew, they tried not to get too excited, as Sam moved back to Rhode Island for a few months for medical school.
They spent the next year in a long distance relationship, as Sam moved around every month for her final year of medical school, and Shane settled into his job in Portland, Maine. Then as fate would have it, Sam matched into the pediatric residency program at Maine Medical Center in Portland and “this match” could continue their adventures together. This opened the door for many more dates (at much better restaurants) and the chance to fall in love. And so they did. Now it is time for them to eat, to drink, and to be married in the presence of their beloved family and friends. Please join them as they embark on their next exciting life adventure together!
